President Obama badly needs more competent staff.  This was pretty clear before, but after the dust up over scheduling his joint address to Congress, it is inescapable.  What, they can’t even schedule a major talk without creating a showdown with Congress in which — of course — Obama has to back down?  You couldn’t make the President look weaker and less in charge if you tried.

The White House staff described this as “a professional misunderstanding.”  Yep, they have become professionals at creating misunderstandings.
